Authenticity attracts me.
I love vintage cars whose wooden steering wheels have been shaped by a craftsman, where the sound and the smell are different. You can recognize a ’72 Alfa Romeo just by its sound. I like a woman who has remained natural, resisting the plasticization of our era. I travel to places that remain unspoiled (which is very hard to find nowadays).
I prefer simple, classic cooking, with just a few ingredients. I no longer buy clothes because I already have plenty, and I don’t follow fashion trends. Among the few brands I like are Barbour and GANT – brands with legacy. As for watches, I’ve been wearing the same ones for years. The one that stands out for me is the Rolex Deep Sea, which I wear every day.
I listen to music that transports me and choose tracks from around the world for my radio show – music with elements of sensuality and cosmopolitan vibes. As my friend Christos Zambounis says, we are resistance fighters. I will never forget a trip to Jordan with Christos, where he injured himself trying to get into his room through the balcony, and I was wheeling him around Cairo in a wheelchair while we smoked cigars. When we saw a NO SMOKING sign in the hotel, we politely asked the receptionist, “Can we smoke?” His disarming reply: “Of course, sir.”
You are authentic when others try to copy you.
