True North Village Lofoten is a unique retreat and hospitality concept located in the stunning Lofoten Islands of northern Norway. It was envisioned by Norwegian artist and musician Magne Furuholmen (of a-ha), inspired by his song “True North,” with the aim to offer guests an authentic, nature-centric experience of the Arctic.
Rather than just a traditional hotel, True North Village is an immersive “village” retreat that can be rented exclusively by groups for a minimum of two nights. This allows visitors to enjoy a private and profound connection with the arctic environment, while still enjoying comfort and thoughtful design.

Set amid the rugged landscapes of the Lofoten archipelago, the retreat integrates local architectural influences with contemporary amenities, giving guests access to a wide range of nature-based activities such as whale-watching, eagle safaris, diving, world-class fishing, ski touring, trekking and climbing – blending wilderness with cultural and adventure experiences.
The design and construction involve acclaimed architectural studios like Snøhetta and LOGG, and interior collaborations with brands like VIPP and Element Studio, creating a modern aesthetic that complements the natural surroundings.
