Egypt’s Most Enchanting Boutique Escape

Al Moudira Hotel is a living work of art that feels like it belongs to another era. Hidden on the west bank of the Nile near Luxor, it combines the atmosphere of an Arabian palace with the warmth of a private retreat.

Created by Zeina Aboukheir in the early 2000s, the hotel was born from a personal vision: to transform the desert into a paradise of culture, nature, and aesthetics. With the help of architects and artisans, a property was built that feels more like a palace than a hotel, filled with courtyards, domes, handcrafted details, and collectible objects.

Its interiors are defined by strong Middle Eastern and North African influences: hand-painted frescoes, Damascene textiles, carved wooden mashrabiya, and antiques gathered from decades of travel. Each room is unique, creating the feeling of staying in a curated private home rather than a conventional hotel.

In recent years, Al Moudira has entered a new chapter, with renovations and expansions that respect its original identity while introducing a more contemporary approach to sustainable luxury. The result is a space that preserves the romance of the past while evolving into a cultural and hospitality destination.
