British Cool on Two Electric Wheels

British electric motorcycle maker Maeving returns with a bold, dark take on its popular RM1S model: the Blackout. Understated in name but striking in presence, the RM1S Blackout is a modern café racer that seamlessly blends retro charm with cutting-edge electric mobility. Designed and hand-built in Coventry — the historical heart of British motorcycling — this machine isn’t just a way to get around. It’s a statement.

The design stays true to the minimalist vintage aesthetic that put Maeving on the map, now dressed in matte black with subtle detailing that exudes sophistication. Every line, every part — from the 17-inch spoked wheels to the hand-stitched seat — has been chosen with care. It’s silent, sleek, and impossibly cool. It doesn’t need to roar to get noticed.

Underneath the classic silhouette lies a modern 7kW hub motor (roughly 10 horsepower) capable of reaching 105 km/h (65 mph). Its dual removable batteries provide a range of up to 130 kilometers (about 80 miles), ideal for city cruising with style and conscience. Despite its retro soul, the Blackout is all about today — clean, efficient, and beautifully crafted.

Maeving’s machines aren’t just electric motorcycles. They’re a new breed of urban expression, built for those who see two wheels as more than transport — as a lifestyle. The RM1S Blackout isn’t just a new release. It’s a new way to ride.
