Clase Azul México presents its new premium creation, Tequila Blanco Ahumado — a product that honors traditional Mexican distillation techniques with a bold, smoky character inspired by the methods of mezcal.
The process begins with slow-roasting blue agave hearts in a pit oven using firewood and volcanic stones. This is followed by milling, fermentation with proprietary yeast from selected agave fields, and double distillation in copper stills. This method imparts an authentic, earthy character that sets it apart from typical blanco tequilas.
The flavor profile of Blanco Ahumado combines notes of smoked agave, plum, red apple, and fresh lemon. On the palate, it is silky, with pronounced minerality and a signature smoky finish. It is bottled at 45% ABV and is priced at approximately $250.
The bottle design draws inspiration from the elements of nature and fire: semi-transparent glass with textures resembling volcanic stone, and copper accents on the cap that evoke the artisanal distillation process.
This new expression joins Clase Azul’s permanent collection, alongside the well-known Plata, Gold, Añejo, Ultra, and Reposado editions. Tequila Blanco Ahumado appeals to connoisseurs of refined spirits and reinforces the growing popularity of smoked tequila on a global scale.
