Modern bespoke

The story of Thom Sweeney began when Thom Whiddett, an apprentice at Timothy Everest, met Luke Sweeney who headed up the made to measure department of the company. In 2006, the pair decided to take a business risk by initially creating a “shop” in a room at the London Mayfair hotel where they took private orders. Thom Sweeney opened his first store in 2009, at the site of a former art gallery near Weighhouse Street.

The ready-to-wear department began in 2013, with e-tailer Mr Porter as the exclusive partner. A second store followed at Bruton Place in 2014. Today, the name Thom Sweeney is recognized internationally. His ready-made garments are sold in the most demanding markets around the world, while their bespoke tailors travel far beyond the confines of Mayfair hotel to cities such as New York, Stockholm and Geneva.
