V8 Islay Edition

Land Rover Classic presents the Islay Edition, a limited-production version of the iconic Defender that combines classic aesthetics with modern technology and luxurious materials. Inspired by the 1965 Series IIa of Spencer Wilks, the founder of Land Rover, the Islay Edition is limited to just 30 units, with 17 being the 90 (short wheelbase) and 13 the 110 (long wheelbase with seven seats).

Each vehicle is fully rebuilt by the Land Rover Classic team, retaining the distinctive ladder chassis and finished in Heritage Grey, with Limestone accents on the wheels and roof. The signature side graphic “GXC 639C” refers to the original registration plate of Wilks’ Series IIa, adding a touch of nostalgia.

Inside, passengers enjoy leather seats with handwoven tweed inserts from the Islay Woollen Mill, while the oak finish in the load area adds a sense of luxury. Special mention goes to the removable tray made from whisky barrel oak from the Kilchoman Distillery.

The Islay Edition is powered by a 5.0-litre V8 petrol engine producing 405 horsepower and 515 Nm of torque, paired with an 8-speed ZF automatic transmission. The suspension and braking systems have been upgraded for improved driving dynamics and comfort.
