Starting in Edinburgh, the capital, and heading north, you’ll cross the stunning Scottish highlands, with their wild landscapes, rolling hills and misty lochs. Driving along the winding roads, you’ll pass picturesque towns and villages where you can stop for a cup of tea. Beware of the narrow country roads that can only accommodate one vehicle in each direction. Every 400 metres there are spaces for one more. The one closest gives priority to the one opposite. As you reach the north coast of Scotland you will encounter some of the most spectacular beaches in the world, including the famous Sands of Morar, with its crystal clear waters and white sand. Continue your journey to the west coast, and you’ll pass the famous Eilean Donan Castle, which stands majestically on a tiny island at the entrance to Loch Duich lagoon. Further north, you’ll reach the Isle of Skye, with its steep coastline, steep mountains and stunning waterfalls. The island is also home to some of the best seafood, so be sure to stop for a meal of fresh lobster , crab or Haggis, perhaps Scotland’s most famous dish. On your way back to Edinburgh, stop at Loch Lomond, one of the largest lagoons. The Trossachs National Park, which is nearby is a haven for wildlife and you may be lucky enough to spot some red deer, otters or eagles. For accommodation choose one of the traditional Scottish country houses, run by local families. Scotland is undoubtedly a place worth visiting.<\/p>\n
