One of Sotheby’s rare and “sealed” auctions features the first Ferrari 365 GTB\/4 Daytona Prototype from 1968, with prospective buyers battling it out to acquire it. Unsurprisingly, the house is proud to be able to offer this Italian model, whose creation expertly bridges the gap between the 275 GTB\/4 and the 365 GTB\/4 and is one of the rarest vehicles to come under the hammer. It is powered by a completely unique 4.4-liter V-12 engine and features a stunning Pininfarina-designed body. This first Ferrari 365 GTB\/4 Daytona Prototype, which is being offered for sale after twenty years of ownership by one owner, has been meticulously restored by Ferrari’s Netherlands-based specialists, and was subsequently awarded Best of Show at the Concours d’Elegance Paleis Het Loo Apeldoorn in 2016. Classiche certified and on display at the Museo Ferrari, it is undoubtedly considered an important part of Ferrari history that would be a staple in any collector’s line-up.<\/p>\n
