It was originally designed by the architect Fran\u00e7ois Mansart, in the 1680s, for the Count of Aufflay and later completed by his nephew, Jules Hardouin-Mansart, architect to Louis XV, who also oversaw the construction of the Ch\u00e2teau de Versailles at the same time.\u00a0Similarly, the magnificent garden of Ch\u00e2teau de Villette was designed by Andr\u00e9 Le N\u00f4tre, who also created the famous gardens of Ch\u00e2teau de Versailles.\u00a0Thus, it has earned the name Le Petit Versailles (the Little Versailles).\u00a0More than 185 acres of garden spread out behind the ch\u00e2teau on the central axis with two rectangular ponds filled with swans, ducks, birds and fish, as well as a waterfall and fountain resembling that of Louis XIV.<\/p>\n
