Saint Laurent continues its expansion in Paris \u2013 where it recently opened a huge new flagship on the Champs-\u00c9lys\u00e9es \u2013 Saint Laurent Babylone, a store exclusively dedicated to art, books and culture.<\/p>\n

Located at 9 Rue de Grenelle in the 7th arrondissement of Paris, the new store’s name refers to the ties Yves Saint Laurent and partner Pierre Berg\u00e9 had to the S\u00e8vres\u2013Babylone neighborhood (the couple moved to 55 Rue de Babylone in 1970 ).<\/p>\n

Anthony Vaccarello, Saint Laurent’s current creative director, said he wanted the space to emulate the iconic Saint Laurent Rive Gauche boutique, which opened in 1966 in the S\u00e8vres-Babylone neighborhood.<\/p>\n

Inside the store the specially curated collection of books, prints and volumes is laid out on minimal marble counters in soft cream and white hues, in perfect harmony with the surrounding Haussmannian architecture.<\/p>\n

Each item selected for the store was entirely curated by Vaccarello.<\/p>\n

And, Saint Laurent Babylone is more than just a traditional bookstore \u2013 in the coming months, the store will be transformed into an event space for a multitude of events, from live shows to author readings\/talks and book signings.<\/p>\n
