Minimalism meets majesty at Palazzo Daniele where monastic d\u00e9cor exaggerates the grandeur of ceiling frescoes and standalone art and design pieces.In the nine suites, bare walls feature the cracks of time and monastic beds take center stage…serving to exaggerate the grandeur of original ceiling frescoes and mosaic flooring. Ludovica + Roberto Palomba turned the building’s layout around, converting the ground floor living areas into spaces for exhibiting art. At the back of the building, the guestrooms and gathering spots look onto a series of courtyards. Historical features, meanwhile, such as the property\u2019s 19th-century chapel, have been restored.<\/p>\n

Retaining a flavor of its Greek past, Penisola Salentina, better known simply as Salento, is peppered with neoclassical, Baroque, and Byzantine architecture. Gagliano del Capo, like other villages in Salento, is full of ancient \u201ccourtyard houses\u201d and buildings situated around a historical square. Don\u2019t miss the annual international art exhibition, Capo d\u2019Arte, which brings well-known names from around the world to this idyllic part of Puglia.<\/p>\n
