Emerald Fennell returns with a daring and sensual cinematic take on Emily Brontë’s classic 1847 novel, Wuthering Heights. The first trailer has just dropped, sparking strong reactions to the modern, provocative vision from the director of Promising Young Woman and Saltburn.
Leading the cast are Margot Robbie as Catherine Earnshaw and Jacob Elordi as Heathcliff, the iconic pair whose turbulent and destructive love has defined 19th-century literature.
The cast also includes Hong Chau as Nelly Dean, Shazad Latif as Edgar Linton, Alison Oliver as Isabella Linton, alongside Martin Clunes and Ewan Mitchell. Young Catherine and Heathcliff are played by Charlotte Mellington and Owen Cooper, highlighting the origins of the story.
The trailer teases a dark, mesmerizing, and emotionally charged cinematic experience where the novel’s gothic roots meet a modern aesthetic—from extravagant costumes to a soundtrack featuring original songs by Charli XCX and a score by Anthony Willis.
