Technics x Fritz Hansen

The collaboration between Technics and Fritz Hansen brings together two iconic names from different disciplines: Japanese high-fidelity audio and Scandinavian design. Unveiled during Copenhagen’s 3 Days of Design festival, the project includes a limited-edition Technics SL-40CBT turntable alongside a matching version of the historic Kaiser Idell Luxus 6631-T table lamp.

The defining feature of the collaboration is its exclusive deep burgundy finish, developed specifically for the project. The color serves as a shared visual language between two objects separated by decades of history yet united by a commitment to craftsmanship and timeless design.

The Kaiser Idell lamp was originally designed in 1936 by Christian Dell, one of the key figures associated with the Bauhaus movement. Its geometric form, metal construction, and balanced proportions continue to influence lighting design nearly a century after its introduction.

Alongside it sits the Technics SL-40CBT, a modern direct-drive turntable built upon the engineering expertise that made Technics a benchmark in both hi-fi audio and DJ culture. Its direct-drive system delivers stable rotation and precise playback, qualities that have defined the brand for generations.

Production numbers remain highly limited, with only 200 lamps and 300 turntables planned for release later this year. The exclusivity of the collection strengthens its appeal among design enthusiasts, collectors, and vinyl lovers alike.
