Amble One: A New Vision of Electric Mobility

The Amble One is the debut model from Portuguese startup Amble, introducing a fresh approach to short-range electric mobility. Designed for coastal towns, private estates, luxury resorts, islands, and small communities, the lightweight electric buggy combines functionality, minimalist design, and an open-air driving experience that encourages a closer connection with the surrounding landscape.

The project is led by a team with experience at Apple, Audi, Ford, and Cowboy. Inspired by NASA’s lunar rover, the Amble One features an exposed aluminum frame, flat windshield, and doorless architecture. Inside, materials such as cork, leather, cotton, and aluminum create an atmosphere that feels closer to contemporary furniture and industrial design than to a conventional automobile.

Power comes from a 15 kW electric motor paired with an 11 kWh battery, delivering a range of more than 100 kilometers and a top speed of approximately 65 km/h. The battery recharges from a standard household outlet in around five hours, while the vehicle’s weight remains below 450 kilograms, allowing it to qualify under Europe’s L7e light quadricycle regulations.

The Amble One also embraces a modular design philosophy. Many components can be removed or replaced with ease, and the dashboard is compatible with standard bicycle accessories, allowing owners to personalize the vehicle for different uses. Independent suspension and oversized wheels provide additional comfort on gravel roads and uneven terrain.
