A beach hunter

Land Rover restorations will always be a favourite of brand enthusiasts everywhere as there has always been something truly special about an old Defender. England’s Arkonik – one of the most specialised of the genre – is back with the SoCal D90, using all its mastery on a 1989 model. As with their previous projects, the upgrades made were specific so as not to sacrifice the authenticity and vintage look of the car. The restoration includes elements that refresh the Defender both externally and internally, as well as in terms of electronic gadgets. Arkonik wanted to add an extra sense of freedom and relaxation to the driving experience, so she removed some off-road elements such as the massive front bumper bars and the tow bar winch. With a 3.5-liter V8 engine mated to a 5-speed manual transmission, this 6-seat D90 can excel on any kind of trail.
