A study in decision making

Nikos Votsis is a graphic designer based in Athens, holding an undergraduate de-gree from Greece and a postgraduate degree from the United Kingdom.

His work explores surface, movement, memory, and materiality, as well as their rela-tionship to decision-making, through the use of printed matter, paper, canvas, and other industrial materials. He has presented his work in exhibitions in Greece, the United Kingdom, and Germany. The exhibition he did brought together works created from 2025 to the present, drawing on a collection of tickets spanning sixteen years, originating from events the artist has attended, journeys he has undertaken, as well as family archives.

The works emerge through an organic process of making, focused on the explora-tion of compositional relationships between elements, at times heterogeneous, and their capacity for harmonious coexistence.

This practice entails a continuous process of decision-making, reflecting the ongoing negotiation of choices that shapes the artist’s lived experience.
