Dangerous ads




Looking at the cigarette advertisements of past decades, we are amazed at the unimaginably light style of the slogans through which the dangerous to our health practice of smoking was conveyed to the general public, combined with images of young smiling people in moments of …healthy enjoyment. Even then, the harmful effects of smoking were known. But today, what remains is the image of those ads reminding us of the campaigns that tried to increase the sales of tobacco companies using marketing techniques. In the particular case of this article, advertisements from the 1960s, 70s, and 80s targeted female audiences with imagery and slogans that today would have made millions for law firms representing women’s organizations.
