Distinguished Gentleman’s Ride

The idea came from a photo of Don Draper from Mad Men, sitting on a Triumph motorcycle, wearing his suit. The reason for the Distinguished Gentleman’s Ride, created in 2012 by Mark Hawwa in Sydney, Australia, and since its 1st year of launch, this special “ride” has connected a global community of motorcyclists in more than 1,000 cities around the world, raising $37.5 million in support of men’s health.

In addition, the Movember Foundation is the official charity partner. As the years go by, this partnership has grown stronger and both parties remain firm in their common mission. The donations raised are invested in prostate cancer and men’s mental health initiatives around the globe. The Distinguished Gentleman’s Ride includes an expensive dress code, suggesting riders wear elegant clothing such as silk vests, tweed suits, maintaining an aesthetic not only in appearance but also in demeanor. The two-wheeled protagonists participating are mostly café racers, bobbers, vintage and modern classic motorcycles, flat trackers, scramblers, old school choppers, brat styled, classic scooters and sidecars. This year’s event is expected to take place on May 21 with Greece declaring its presence, having already a significant number of participants.
