Gianfranco Frattini: ieri, oggi, domani

Gianfranco Frattini. Architect, designer and prominent member of the generation that created the Italian design movement in the late 1950s to 1960s, playing a catalytic role in shaping it. Frattini, following in the footsteps of his teacher and mentor Giò Ponti, became a leading designer, with his professional activity focusing mainly on interior and industrial design. He collaborated with many manufacturers such as Bernini, Arteluce, Acerbis, Fantoni, Artemide and Livio Castiglioni where he designed the historic Boalum lamp in 1970. His works adorn palaces, luxury shops, hotels and offices around the world.

Throughout his professional life, he participated diligently in exhibitions and shows, receiving numerous awards for his design achievements. Nowadays, the exhibition Gianfranco Frattini. Alongside archival and contemporary reissues, American furniture brand CB2 presents vintage products, contemporary reissues and inspirations for the future, with Frattini’s daughter, architect Emanuela Frattini, directing the presentation. The exhibition takes place from 14 April to 14 May 2023 at Palazzo Arese Borromeo, Via Borromeo 41, Milan.
