Il Sereno at Lake Como

Il Sereno has been built on the shores of Italy’s Lake Como.

Inspired by the color of the lake and its glistening water, the nature of the dramatic mountains, and the adjacent village of Torno. A 30-suite hotel surrounded by the Italian Alps, reinterprets the rationalism of the Casa del Fascio by Giuseppe Terragni, with a contemporary accent. The materials are all natural and mainly local: like Pietra di Fossena for the pavement and Ceppo Lombardo for the facade and some interiors.

A constant dialogue between Landscape and Architecture, Design and Nature: the atmospheres of the 50s echo in the 30 suites of the hotel, influenced by Scandinavian shapes and Japanese shades, with chairs and beds in woven rope, sofas in fabric and leather, stone and steel that blend with the wood, and the windows through which one can see the blue-green reflections of the lake. The Spa is designed by Valmont, whereas Moroso, Cassina and B&B Italia have furnished the reception and the restaurant of the Michelin-starred chef, Andrea Berton.

The swimming pool overlooking the lake is in Brazilian karst stone with an ash deck and rests on self-levelling and adjustable supports from Impertek’s PEDESTAL LINE range.
