Primary element

Water has been the source of a variety of narratives: spiritual and physical renewal, diving into nostalgic memories of childhood play and fun. Eric Zener is known for his paintings with water as a primary element, painting for over 25 years. He has always been fascinated by our relationship with nature and enjoys exploring that relationship not only through his watercolors, but also through what he describes as “Journeys”, “Earth” and “Sleep”. Zener, a native of Astoria, Oregon, USA, is a self-taught artist. As of 2004, he had created more than 600 works. His paintings, mostly in oil, are in a photorealistic or “surrealist” style that he describes as “Modern Renaissance”. Zener’s work has been exhibited in the United States and internationally for nearly three decades.
