Perhaps my greatest passion is to travel. I’ve traveled a lot in my life, though never enough. Many places have left a deep impression on me, each for different reasons, and from each one I carried something back home with me. From some places, a sense of raw, primal beauty. From others, the harshness and resilience of the land and its people. From some places, the feeling of the future. From others, the “monotony” of a homogeneous local population, and from others, the incredible blend of diversity. The unique connection with nature. Joy in the midst of hardship. Cosmopolitanism. Traveling as a traveler rather than as a tourist takes time. You cannot truly connect or experience unique moments in rushed three-day trips. I miss those kinds of journeys, and I feel grateful that I managed to experience some of them. Some distant travels, always with just a carry-on. Travel is like a love affair. You simply live it, beautifully and freely, and it reaches another level when it becomes meaningful – filled with deep authenticity.
