Wes Anderson x Montblanc

Montblanc celebrates 100 years of its iconic Meisterstück fountain pen with a special collaboration with award-winning director Wes Anderson. At the heart of the campaign is a short film, written and directed by Anderson himself, starring him alongside Rupert Friend, Jason Schwartzman, and Michael Cera. The story follows a whimsical, humorous journey of writing, traveling, and reflection.

Set in a fictional, almost fantastical Mont Blanc Observatory High-Mountain Library, the film is rich in Anderson’s trademark symmetry, color palettes, and off-beat storytelling. The narrative takes viewers aboard the imaginary “Montblanc Voyage of Panorama” train, gliding through dreamlike landscapes and illuminating the timeless link between travel and creativity.

More than just a commercial, the film serves as a philosophical commentary on the value of handwriting as a creative act. At its center is a new limited-edition writing instrument, the Schreiberling fountain pen, designed by Anderson himself. The film also subtly features other Montblanc icons—document cases, portable writing desks, and Minerva watches—seamlessly woven into the storyline.

The campaign extends into real-world experiences, with pop-up exhibitions like the chalet-themed one in Beverly Hills. Visitors can engage with handwriting through workshops, personalization sessions, and exclusive displays of collections such as “Meisterstück The Origin.”

According to Montblanc, this collaboration aims to evoke emotion and inspiration, reminding us that handwriting remains “an act that should always be revered,” and that every handwritten line has the power to spark new ideas and stories. The Let’s Write campaign redefines our relationship with writing, positioning it as an immersive, creative experience and inviting each of us to leave our own mark on the page.
