In the jungle and by the pacific

At the edge of the jungle on the Pacific Coast of Costa Rica we find this impressive shelter built entirely of local teak wood. Designed by the American company Olson Kundig Architects, the Costa Rica tree -house is set within a dense jungle near Playa Hermosa Beach, where owners can enjoy their passion for surfing. The three-story tree-house has shale walls and tree trunks. The level of the ground floor of the house merges with that of the forest and is also linked to a concrete pool rising from the slope. Here is also the open-plan kitchen and dining room along with storage space. The middle level has a bedroom, bathroom and extra storage space and is located in the trees. On the third floor there is a lounge and a bathroom. This level rises above the forest, allowing the views of the jungle and the ocean.
