In southwestern Colorado, nestled in a canyon among the San Juan Mountains, lies Telluride—a destination well-known among skiers since the 1970s. Long before it became a winter resort, however, the town was a silver-mining camp. But for something entirely fresh… we suggest taking a look at the redesign of the Madeline Hotel. The already impressive property has gained a renewed identity, featuring beautiful details of Italian limestone, sheepskin, and fireclay tile.

The Madeline is part of Auberge Resorts Collection, a group renowned for its high-end properties around the world. As soon as you enter the hotel and make your way to check-in at the black steel reception desk topped with Pietra marble—set against a backdrop of vintage ski gear—you’ll be offered a taste of local beer from Telluride Brewing Company, served in a mug crafted from copper mined in Colorado.

Aiming to offer an extra perk for winter-sports enthusiasts, the hotel teamed up with Olympic athlete Gus Kenworthy to create a dedicated recovery space for skiers, equipped with modern techniques such as Hyperice technology. And don’t forget to try the TNT at the Timber Room bar—a cocktail that blends hot coffee, Telluride Whiskey, and a spicy liqueur from Montenegro.
