A remarkable piece of watchmaking with a rich sporting legacy, the Patek Philippe Reference 130 Chronograph once belonged to legendary New York Yankees player Joe DiMaggio. Manufactured in 1947, the watch is believed to have been presented to him by the team in 1948, in recognition of his remarkable career, including his historic 56-game hitting streak.
Its 33mm 18-karat yellow gold case frames a silvered dial featuring distinctive Breguet numerals and two chronograph sub-dials. DiMaggio kept the watch until his death in 1999. After being sold by his estate in 2006, it passed through very few hands. Today, this historically significant timepiece is once again on the market, with an asking price of $1.2 million.
