Tented Sanctuary in the Andes
[ssba]

Set in a mythic landscape of Southern Peru, in the “Valley of the Guardians”, Tinajani is a luxury tented retreat perched at nearly 3,900 meters above sea level. Tucked into a remote private reserve spanning approximately 150–200 hectares, the camp features only six safari-style suites, each comprising a sleeping tent and a lounge area, an en-suite bathroom, a heated deck with a private hot tub, all overlooking the dramatic Tinajani Canyon—its towering red sandstone columns conveying pre-Inca myths carved in stone.

The camp’s heart is a carefully restored 1890s farmhouse, preserved as a cultural anchor where family portraits, antiques, artisanal ceramics, and the comfort of a crackling fireplace blend to create a welcoming retreat after daytime exploration.

Tinajani is more than luxury—it’s a gateway to an off-the-beaten-path jewel of the Andes, offering guided hikes, mountain biking adventures, visits to artisan workshops, excursions through the rare Puya forest, and authentic Altiplano cuisine rooted in local, highaltitude ingredients—all delivered with commitment to environmental stewardship and cultural preservation.

Notably, this site operates within one of the first private conservation areas in Southern Peru, implementing initiatives that support both environmental protection and local community well-being.
