Stylish hospitality

Melides. A region of Portugal dominated by vineyards, rice paddies, white cobbled squares and endless views of the Atlantic Ocean.

Totally intertwined with the aura of the region, the boutique hotel Vermelho, has opened its doors to the public and behind this project, is the iconic designer Christian Louboutin, who wanted to leave his mark in the world of hospitality.

Created in collaboration with selected Louboutin architects and designers, the name Vermelho – which means red in Portuguese – is a fitting tribute to the signature colour of the French-Egyptian designer’s shoes, while the architectural style of the hotel celebrates the natural beauty of the country’s coastline.Comprising 13 rooms, the interiors reflect Louboutin’s eclectic and maximalist aesthetic. The hotel has a restaurant serving classic Portuguese cuisine and the adjacent Vermelho Bar offers an extensive cocktail menu. Guests have access to a spa and massage as well as a wide range of activities including a picnic specially prepared by the chef, exploring the village of Melides by bike and horse riding along the Comporta coastline.
