Sled Dog Race In Alaska

The Iditarod Trail Sled Dog Race is an established dog sled dog race that takes place every March in Alaska.

Starting from Settler’s Bay and ending at Nome, the trained dogs and their guides compete for a tradition that has been holding since 1973.

Each stroller – team consists of 16 dogs and their driver and spends a distance of 8 – 15 days.

This contest started out as an event for the designation of the best racing dogs and consequently their owner and today has taken the official dimension of a race that requires much preparation with care and love for its four-legged protagonists.

Iditarod Trail Sled Dog Race is very popular and every year attendance and audience are increasing, since its participants are thought for the time the contest takes place as local heroes and draw all the attention on them while the winner accepts respect and recognition throughout the year.
